'A' ASPECTS

MANNING

11. On departure from TERENDAK 43556 Pte Young AR was found to be absent. This deficiency was made up from ARU by 43361 Pte FERGUSSON G who was posted to the Coy on 12 May bringing the Coy up to full strength.

12. 213920 Pte Te KOI TN was posted to the Coy on the 14 May.

13. The FO and Ack FO from 101 Bty arrived shortly after the Main Body with their two sigs arriving shortly after.

14. On 22 May 1 Interpreter from 6 RAR BHQ was also attached to the Coy.

MEDICAL

15. A summary of the weekly health states is as follows:-

Venereal Diseases 3
Tinea 6
Burns 1
Prickly Heat 13
Boils 5
Monsoon Blisters 3
Diarrhea 3
others 3

'Q' ASPECTS

16. The handover between V8 and V4 Coy was completed by 5 May.

PROJECTORS

17. The Coy was pleased to receive shortly after its arrival a new American projector. It is a great pity that, as the majority of the films available are Cinemascope, an incorrect fitting Anamorphic lens was provided.

18. On arrival of the Main Body a TV set was placed in the Offrs/Sgts Mess. After connection with the transformer and switch the TV set burnt out. It was regrettably returned for repairing. As the transformer was also suspect it was forward to NZ Component on or about 10 May with the request that it be checked to ensure that it was functioning correctly. At the end of the month the transformer was still in NZ Component unchecked. On inquiry we were informed that the requisition had been forwarded but the transformer had not been called forward. As a result the Offrs/Sgts TV set is available but cannot be used through lack of a transformer. This delay in merely checking the voltage output of a transformer seems ludicrous.
