2. On 10 Jan 70 V Coy completed deployed into
AO Bayswater on Op Napier.
3.
From 9 - 12 Jan 70 V Coy took part in a Cordon and Search Operation
of AP NGAI GIAO. On 13 Jan 70 the Coy was air assualted into the
Northern part of AO Bayswater and carried out RF and Ambush tasks
in the area.
4.
In this period the Coy have had five contacts. Two were conclusive
and three inconclusive. The results to date are:-

Medical. During the reporting period eight soldiers were admitted

Visits. On 2 Jan 70 the Coy was visited by Mr. P.K. Edmonds, the
New Zealand Ambassador in Saigon.
12.
Future postings. With the completion of V Coy's tour in SVN only
just over four months away, and with married members of the Coy
RTNZ shortly after, it is requested that information of intended
postings for these members be advised as soon as possible. This
information is required so that arrangements can be made to ship
cars etc. home from Singapore.
13. Dart
Boards. The Coy recently received a number of dart board cabinets,
a gift from Rothmans of New Zealand (Ltd). These cabinets have
been distributed between V and W Coys. However it is disturbing
to note that although Rothmans dispatched six cabinets, only five
arrived. This Coy would like to know what did happen to the missing
cabinet and dart board.
'Q' MATTERS
14.
On 9 Jan 70 V Coy lost a M16 rifle. It was left by a member
at a concert in Luscombe Bowl. A Court Inquiry has been convened
by NZ Component. At the time of writing the missing rifle has not
be found.
