Recently comments have been made about members of this
Coy taking leave in the last 2 - 3 months of their tour in S.V.N.
(NZ V Force RO 12/17 refers). Any attempts to plan the two leave
periods of members of this Coy to fall with in a 6-7 month period
would result in a reasonably sharp increase in the numbers not available
for operations. This is not acceptable as under the present system,
at the peak period platoon strengths were often below 20. Therefore
it is felt the system of allowing leave to be taken over an eight
month period i.e. No leave in first three or last one month of tour,
should continue.
